Rapid Delivery: Duck Lips, Asexuals, and Periods – 9

Rapid Delivery: Duck Lips, Asexuals, and Periods – 9

Can you please do an ask Lindsey video on Monday?
Aaaaaa What does sexually active mean?
Well the basic idea is this: Have you had any sexual contact, usually within the 3 months. If you’re not sure what the person asking is asking then ask them.
Who do you have sex with? Myself and others.
How is Sexplanations different than Sex+?
This is my show. Is there something people do in their sex lives
that they think is good but you think is dysfunctional? Mm, sometimes our dysfunctions serve us. I’d like to see more people get help and less people suffer. How do I get my sex drive back?
Have sex.
How can I learn about my sexuality without experimenting?
Same way you learn about nutrition: reading, watching, asking questions, talking it over. Can you explain asexuality?
A as a prefix means without or the absence of and in this situation it is the absence of sexual
attraction. The person might call themselves an ace or aces and if they experience a crush that is
platonic it’s called a squish. Squish.
Demi-, Omni-, GreyA-, Pan-, all the other sexual orientations out there I’d like to give to another episode. There.
Does anyone else think speculums look like a duck? Yes, Eve Ensler.
What can I do if I’m allergic to latex?
There are lots of non-latex options out there. These are polyisoprene, some of my favorites.
How do I get started masturbating?
Ask your body how it wants to be sexed.
What is the how-to on vaginal hygiene?
Clean hands, warm water, wash on the outside, not on the inside. The vulva is want needs rinsing, not the vagina. The vagina is self-cleansing like the eyes.
What is the difference between an STI and an STD? STI stands for sexually transmitted infection. STD stands for sexually transmitted disease. In the medical field they don’t refer to
an infection as a disease unless there are symptoms. So, educators and the like are moving towards STIs so we can prevent infections and not just symptoms. Do I have to do anything differently with a condom if I have foreskin?
Hey! Danielle on Scotophobic does a great episode on this. Right there.
How can we know we’re being safe and doing it right?
Did you follow all the steps? If you did, then you’re doing the best you can. What do you masturbate to?
My sexy self!
What should I know about choosing a dildo? What it is made out of.
Can you talk about periods?
About this much blood creates an endometrium inside the uterus, kind of like a bloody
mattress where the egg-sperm combination called a blastocyst embeds itself–into the walls or the uterine lining. If the body gets word that it’s not pregnant, then the blood starts to contract and slough off,
coming out of the body called menstruation of or a period. What are the pros and cons of the birth
control pill?
Some pros: It is 98% effective at preventing pregnancy,
regulates hormones and it can decrease acne, cramps, headaches mood swings, heavy menstruation. It’s also
reversible and works great with other forms of birth control. Some cons: It does not work well with antibiotics or nicotine, it’s easy to forget you, have to take it by pill, it’s only available by prescription, and it doesn’t prevent against sexually transmitted infections!
Where do I go to talk about my asexuality? AVEN: The Asexuality Visibility and Education Network. And you can find them at asexuality.org.
Does me liking girl porn mean I like girls?
Nope, it sure doesn’t.
Can though. What’s the best way to clean out sebum before it turns into smegma? Warm water. Can you eat smegma?
Unless you’re vegan?
How come when I finger myself it feels completely different than when my partner fingers me? The Forward Model.
Can you get pregnant from a hand-job or a blow-job? Pregnancy as a result of a sperm, usually protected by other contents of semen, meeting an egg or ovum. The blow-jobs and hand-jobs I’m familiar with do not involve the transportation of sperm to the vagina, vulva, or a petri dish.
Can you lose your virginity to a speculum? No.
What is BDSM?
It is an initialism that stands for Bondage, Discipline, Dominance, submission, Sadism, and Masochism. It’s four letters, six words. What do you think about sapiosexuality?
As in attraction to smarts? Squish!
Can you think of ways to help somebody who’s struggling with their sexuality? I try to laugh more and include cool people in my investigations. There’s a lot to learn about sexuality. It’ll go on and on and on. Yeah?
You’ll have the same me Wednesday with more answers.

  • Asexuality is lack of sexual attraction; so what if you still are capable of attraction but just don't care to do sex for varied social and societal reasons? (Abstinence! Think Tesla.)

  • Not exactly. There's a reason we call it a menstrual cycle. Our lady bodies want to be ready to get pregnant all the time though. I was trying to think of a simple metaphor to type out but looking at all the mechanics of what happens but sometimes metaphors and allegories are not enough. Fail…

  • As long as that hand doesn't go anywhere near your genitals or mouth, and you wash your hands straight after, than no you can't. 🙂

  • I'd like to see asexuality explored in more detail, I kind of find it difficult to explain the many different sides of asexuality and it's difficult to find resources so I can help people learn, it'd be nice to have a video to point people towards :3

  • If you have attraction and desire but choose not to have sex, that's abstinence. Abstinence is a choice. Asexuality is when you're missing one of the two. Some aces who are capable of sexual attraction but do not have sexual desire/libido define themselves as gray-aces, and gray-asexuality is under the asexuality umbrella. Honestly asexuality is a self-defined term, and there are variations among communities.
    Does that help?

  • Laci Green is a girl who works for Planned Parenthood giving her opinion about all kinds of different topics. This is a more open discussion about selected topics and sets of Q & As with a clinical sexologist. Laci is also making her own show over which she has free reign whilst this is a collaborative project. Which one is better depends on what you are looking for because they are very different sex education channels. Still, I don’t understand why you say that Laci Green is sex negative.

  • The only problem I can see from someone whom strongly opposes all religious beliefs is that the person may oppose heteronormative sexual activity, which I can tell Laci does not.

  • Though it is true Laci is not always as diplomatic as she could be, I genuinely think PP and Sex+ are a good effort [compared to, say, her tumblr(s)], considering she has biases (don't we all?). I'm not convinced that religion has contributed one single thing to sex positivity and I think Laci probably feels the same; that said, she's definitely mellowed over the years and will generally say "whatever you choose is fine" in response to everything concerning your own body.

  • Do you mean heterosexual activity? Of course there's nothing wrong with that, but heteronormativity (the assumption that everyone is straight until further notice) just causes awkwardness and difficulties in our current society. It's fine to recognise one behaviour as more common than the other, but not to pin down one as default / "normal" and the other as less than normal, which is what heteronormativity encourages.

  • I'm not a professional, but I believe it's that your body prepares for the reception of sperm and if it doesn't come, then it expels. That's why two weeks before your period there is a higher chance of pregnancy because your body is waiting for the sperm. So you're not actually pregnant, but your body is waiting for that "what if"

  • The ~two weeks beforehand is when an ovary release an egg and it travels down the fallopian(sp?) tube to the uterus to meet or not meet a sperm cell. If it doesn't meet a sperm cell then the uterine lining is shed because it doesn't need to stick around to act as a home for the zygote. But this is if you aren't on a hormonal birth control, then it's a whole different story and the period you have isn't even real. (Trust me, that actually makes sense when you understand it) Yay knowledge! 🙂

  • Laci does not have any prejudice against religion. Religions come with all sorts of prejudices towards sex and different sexual behaviors/preferences (not to mention many other things), which is why she gave them up. Religion wasn't good to her, that's all.

If something stands in the way of your beliefs and curiosities, it's just natural to remove it from your life. It's a lot better than claiming to be religious and be a hypocrite and hide your actions/preferences/curiosity.

  • I don't see anything wrong with hating religion.
Bertrand Russell adamantly hated religion but he was a good guy. Pacifist, CND/ND advocate, ethicist, etc.
I hate religion myself. Doesn't seem to get in the way of anything in my life. I love my friends and family. Far as I know, I'm the only atheist among us.
Religion isn't a person. It cannot feel. It cannot suffer. It doesn't have opinions. Rather, it is an institution that dictates what some would have others believe in.

  • I'm trying to find out what the forward model is, however I cannot find any information. Could you describe what this model is?

  • I love how you say "if the body gets word that it's not actually pregnant", like the body doesn't know it's not knocked up until it's at work one day and hears the other bodies gossiping about it in the staff room. Maybe I'm over thinking it.

  • You body thinks it might be pregnant for about 2 weeks every cycle. The other two weeks it is just getting ready for you to get pregnant.

  • There are other asexuality websites you know. AVEN is just one of many. What about Apositive and Avalanche? I find that AVEN is a little closed minded and the moderators passive aggressively discriminate against various groups and people.

  • I'm looking forward to your asexuality episode, Doctor. If you want any testimonials then please feel free to hit me up O:-)

  • I squish for Hank too. Also I had to do the enter-code-because-you-actually-comment-code, and the fist one was hepatizes and the second one was ejaculoto. Is Youtube making up their fake words sex related like sounding on purpose?

  • I am unsure how the sperm will get into a Petri dish unless by hand job short of the use of a veterinary electroejaculator. Can you explain how it gets into the dish and also explain how an electroejaculator works? Can they be used on humans?
Thank you for explaining squish. I was worried that I might not be fully lesbian because of Hank. Can we share him?
I have been watching your videos all afternoon. Squee. My RLGF(tm) came home. She thinks you are awesome also.
    Is Hank a Browncoat?

  • Thank you so much for all of your unbiased information! You do it such a fun way, I love it.

I wanted to let you know that when I click on the image to reach Danielle's video on scotophobic about putting condoms on foreskin YouTube says "That video is private. Sorry about that."

  • that video has been marked as private so what do you need to do differently putting a condom on a penis with foreskin?

  • The partner is going to love being called an 'ase' ^_^ Also going to love the term 'squish.' … we do a lot of cuddling.

  • LOVE the bit about periods! So interesting. I am 26, and didn't realise that's how it worked! I mean, i know it was the shedding of blood and such from the uterus when we aren't getting our eggies fertilized, but…the visual i got from the idea of a mattress of blood contracting…wow! 🙂

  • "How do I start masturbating?"
"Ask your body how it wants to be sexed! :D"
That was the greatest answer ever XD

  • My body likes to be sexed HARD…but that is neither here nor There! Great answers Doctor Doe.
PS: Am I the only one that notices weird similarities between lindsay and a doe?

  • Hey, err well I have really important question to ask and I don't want others to know about it do you have an email I can send it to. It would help me out alot if you did.
    Thanks x

  • Good questions, good answers.  I wonder, are there some forms of sexual expression that you find are not healthy?  Like perhaps some of the more extreme forms of bondage or S&M?  Body modification to specifically genital areas bordering on scarification or self-mutilation?  Be interested in seeing that discussed.  Keep up the good work!

  • I'm so glad I learned about the polyisoprene condoms from you, I never knew!… Seriously it's a big game changer for me since I'm allergic to latex and lambskin skeeves me out. Also couldn't help but giggle with the squish concerning sapiosexuality… totally true!! XP

  • "Ask your body how it wants to be sexed."

I have the ability to be serious about things (even if it's just barely serious to be appropriate) but hearing this just made me laugh uncontrollably and I don't know why. Guess my brain just started having convulsions.

  • 3.19 You and me both sister! Delighted to learn the word sapiosexual since it's something I definitely experience and didn't even know it was a thing!

  • I am a 47 yr old guy and I wish that I had access to this kind of info when I was younger. The wife and I started exploring our sextaulity with others and I got involved with the bdsm thing and I am glad I had an opportunity to do this but I would have wanted to experance this while I was younger

  • Wait, don't birth control comes as a shot too, right? I have a friend that has this little stick in her arm and she has to get it renewed or something every 3 months and I think she said it lasts for 5 years or something like that… Idk

  • Also one con of hormonal birth control is that it can worsen the symptoms of some mental illnesses like depression! Also, if you take medication, make sure to check with you psychiatrist (or whoever manages your meds) before going on the pill

  • The birth control pill made my life sooo much better. I used to have insanely heavy periods. For example, I one time got my period at work and so I put 2 (yes two!) Overnight pads in my panties (lined front to back so it felt like a friggin diaper) AND a tampon. 3 hours into my shift my boss had to send me home because I had bled through my shorts. It was humiliating. The pill helped me a lot and now I don't have to sit at home alone because of excessive bleeding.

  • How do I give Dr. Doe a high five for being funny, friendly, intelligent, informative, cute, and making people feel more comfortable about themselves?

  • I have not found ANY condom on the market that I'm not alergic to (tried like 50) if its not the lube it's the material =_= I have a contact allergy to Latex and (most) latex "replacement" materials. I used to be sencitive to latex but due to me beeing a responssible teen using the comdoms avalable, it got worse and now I have to watch out for things like surgical tape and patches.
