That especially when the baby is in the womb, The first 12 weeks or 3 months are said to be crucial. In this duration the entire development of the baby’s body happens. The blueprint is ready and subsequently the baby grows. Not many of us may be aware of it. If we move ahead on the journey with this awareness, We get a lot of clarity. Let us discuss today about some other aspects which the couple and the entire family should take care. We have with us, the well-known gynaecologist Dr Nitika Sobti. Welcome doctor. And we have Brahma Kumari Sister Shivani. Om Shanti. Om Shanti. We discussed last time that the child is developed in the first 12 weeks and the blueprint is ready, as Dr. Nitika mentioned. But although the family wants to support Maybe the mother in law will want to prepare a variety of dishes for the daughter in law. But the daughter in law may not be able to eat them. But when she refuses to eat, they don’t like it. This is common. When everybody’s intentions are pure Even for the mother in law, her grandchild is about to arrive. Everybody’s intentions are pure, that everything should be the best and perfect. But within the same intention, opinions will be different. This is very important. Intentions of the mother, father, and their parents are the best. But even in that best intention, there will be difference in opinions. Whether it is about eating or drinking habits. Whether to walk or not, whether to exercise or not. How much to do? Everything might have a difference of opinion. And if our relationship was not very smooth over a long period Especially if it was not perfect with the mother in law, Now each difference of opinion will become an ego issue. That what I say is right. Both will feel they are right. And both will actually be right too. But both have different views. At this time our first priority should be The state of mind of not just the mother but the entire family. Because we understand that our vibrations are influencing the baby. It is not only the mother’s vibrations which is influencing the child, But vibrations of everyone at home is influencing the child. If there is a fight or conflict between the mother in law and daughter in law today, If they are not in talking terms or if they are cold to each other, Suddenly the vibration of the whole house will change. Even the husband will have the anxiety of managing both of them. If 4 to 5 members at home are living in such an environment of tension That soul (child) will be influenced by each of their state of mind. We are doing all this because our intentions for the child is pure. But we do not agree with each other. That dish or that exercise had its own benefit. But by arguing over them, the damage we created now, Can probably not be rectified even by all those benefits put together. The mother in law is sharing everything based on her experience or knowledge. Even the daughter-in-law is taking lot of information maybe from the internet. Both of them are right actually. Even if you consider a discussion between any two people for that matter. Our perspectives and thoughts are different. Sometimes the girl prefers to listen to her mother. So now there is a third difference of opinion. That you are going by what your mother says, and your mother in law has a different opinion. That will become another issue – that you listen only to your mother So what happens is – everyone’s intentions are good but everyone’s ego stands as a barrier. Although our intentions were to give the child health and happiness, We are actually giving a lot of anger and resentment, because we have started creating resentment towards each other. We are literally throwing energy at each other. Each and every thought – she is always like this, she doesn’t agree, she doesn’t listen… Even if they don’t say it, because you don’t have to say it in words. (but only create in your thoughts) Often they don’t say it out, but keep it in their mind. Look at how today’s generation has become, look at what they do… It is as if not just the girl but the entire family is pregnant. When this information goes to the wife, husband, mother or mother in law Will there be a change in their thought process? A lot of people come to us together as a family. Because they are concerned. They want to welcome the baby and do everything right. They even ask about all the precautions. They also make efforts to follow all the instructions. But as she said so beautifully, differences of opinion will still exist. In spite of the fact that you have the knowledge. So acceptance is very important, because in the body, If we try to understand pregnancy in raw terms, If we have a little understanding of the menstrual cycle. Ovulation happens in the mid-cycle. By ovulation I mean that egg is released. And fertilization has happened. So that one cell is formed in the 2nd week. So you don’t know since you have not missed the period. You will miss the period in the 4th week. Now in these 2 weeks – if we understand the entire journey of pregnancy 1 cell becomes 2 cells, 2 cells become 4 cells, and 4 cells becomes 16 cells. This process continues. When it is time for implantation, you are at around 4 weeks. Actually it happens before that itself. Just trying to tell you that so much has already happened before even the girl knows. Once they come to know, then the body has to undergo changes. There is happiness, there is a little confusion and may be she feels overly concerned. Sometimes even that becomes difficult to handle. As you said that the blueprint of the baby is getting prepared, During this period, the mother and father can radiate mental energy to the baby’s organs that are being formed. They can create the right thoughts and help the child. Good thoughts will give good hormones. What will our body get with our good thoughts? ‘Feel-good’ hormones. When the feel-good neurotransmitters are released, They will nourish every cell of the body. When our every cell gets nourished, The circulation in our body circulates even through the baby’s body. Dr. Barker was a scientist who discovered a very important aspect. Medical science totally agrees with it. Barker’s hypothesis is fetal origin of adult diseases. You might have heard of Metabolic Syndrome. It is popular this new name has been coined. They have included hypertension in it. They have included diabetes. Whatever are categorized as lifestyle diseases, They are included under Metabolic Syndrome. Obesity, diabetes, hypertension, coronary artery disease, Hypercholesterolemia, And this Metabolic Syndrome has a fetal origin. It happens when the baby is in the womb. Why? Reason is simple. Even if we simply understand without getting into details We know that pancreas is an organ. We know about diabetes, where one hormone is released in lesser quantity – Insulin. The Beta cell in the pancreas produces insulin. Just trying to give you an example so that it fits in somewhere – about how important it is. This is not the only reason, let us be very sure. There are 100 more reasons for diabetes. But this has a fetal origin. So whatever is in our control, we need to do that. The child will later change its own programming. But as a parent, whatever best we want to do, we can take care of this aspect. So the beta cell in the pancreas is less. Because our nutrition level in terms of our proteins and calorie intake, If we are severely malnourished or undernourished during the first few weeks, It will obviously affect the development of the baby. Because there are less Beta cells in the pancreas. Because of fewer Beta cells, less Insulin is produced. So later during adulthood, the child is likely to have diabetes. It is only a chance, there is no direct correlation. But for this you have to do so many studies. It takes years for any study to get authenticated. But if we get an indication, then it is not difficult for us to take care. Balancing our nutrition In spite of the fact that there is vomiting, nausea or fear, That is okay, we have an entire day. We will keep eating frequently in small quantities. And we will remain easy. The mother will not give up because it is for the child. Since the brain gets the same signal, it creates a pathway as – I need to eat. But right now the pathway that is created is – I have nausea and vomiting, so I don’t want to eat. Because I don’t want to do anything for myself, but if it is important for my child, Then certainly every mother who is watching this program will like to eat. When patients come into my OPD, I ask most of them when they ate for breakfast. Only about 20% would have had breakfast by then. Until 11:00 a.m., most of them would have consumed only milk, coffee or cold coffee. Consuming cold drinks is another aspect. These days, they are understanding the effect of drinking cold drinks. We will talk about what they should eat and what to avoid. As of now, we don’t know what will be the future journey of the child. But how can we empower that child today? There is a creation happening. And you are aware that in 3 months, these aspects are developing. One type of thoughts is – will it all be fine or not, will the development be right or not, will everything go well or not? There is this illness at home, there is that illness in my family. What if it genetically transmits to my child? Each of these thoughts is negative. If every thought affects the body, each of our thoughts becomes critical. But even in this case we can change each and every thought. Create thoughts like – The brain is developing now, it is developing very well. Talk to the body which is getting created, And talk to the soul who is also there, creating the body. We can call this also as meditation, when we doing it from this standpoint. If for 3 to 4 times a day, even if we sit down for 5 minutes each time. And send a very positive message to each and every organ which is getting developed. That the heart will be like this – perfect. Not just right now, but throughout the child’s lifetime, it will be healthy. It will always pump blood perfectly – we can say all this based on our knowledge. There will be no high cholesterol. Limbs will be like this. Bones will be very strong. Muscles will be strong. Keep giving these messages and every message is going to work. And even whatever you eat, you will feel good that is going to the child. But if while eating you create thoughts like – I am not able to eat, what if I will vomit? Now change the thought to – I will eat, there will be no vomiting. Even if it happens, it is anyway a good sign. Everything you eat is getting in and creating so and so. It’s all happening here in the mind. But if you are consciously taking it as a project and programming it. Then at least 3 to 4 times a day, radiate such focused thoughts for 5 minutes. One is about giving focused thoughts. And the other is that even if you create thoughts of anxiety anytime, Whether everything will be fine or not – change it immediately. Even if you listen to other people – even if you hear anything negative from people around you, Reject it immediately and reaffirm as – Everything will be fine with me and my child. Everything will be healthy here. Sometimes we get a lot of information in this phase. People are sharing it for your benefit, but they are sharing out of their own experience. Everyone would have a different journey. Even if we listen to 10 people, And we put in so much information into ourselves, Then it becomes a little difficult for us to maintain a positive track. So if there is any unhealthy information for me, I have to reject it immediately. Just like we reject unhealthy food, We need to reject such information also. Even if someone tells you it might happen this way, tell them – No, it is okay. Everything will be fine with me. Give every such thought to the soul and to the body also. It really, really creates wonders for the child. It is possible. It is an opportunity for us because of the understanding. Dr Nitika, this is about how to empower the body and soul during the three months. What am I eating during this phase – that is also important. There will be questions because there is a conflict in this aspect. Maybe because of the information we have today. Especially about exercises and food. We have a certain information. And our parents and in-laws have different concepts. So harmony in this matter is also a question mark. How to resolve it? When it comes to our diet, It plays a very important role. Due to the development happening, our cells need the energy. To create new cells and to create a new body, energy has to come from the food we take. So what kind of food should we eat? We have to be very clear and sure first. That whatever nature has given us, that is healthy for us. Don’t eat this, don’t eat that, this causes a problem, that causes acidity – we get lots of inputs at this time. You can take anything, but ultimately your experience will be only yours. My patients ask me for a diet chart. They say that they will follow it perfectly. I tell them that maybe your baby doesn’t like a certain food. How can I give you a diet chart? You prepare your diet chart. Your diet chart should have certain things. At a basic level we understand, You need to consume milk products. We know it is important because they are full of vitamins and minerals. If you don’t like drinking milk, choose milk products. You have such a wide range and variety of products. You need to have salads and at least 3 fruits in a day. These are basic guidelines of healthy eating for a pregnant woman. They have been laid down and accepted. So it is very, very important. And you need to have pure, good food. We have enough information about good, Satvik food. During the first 3 months, they may not even realise it will have a deep impact. Also because there is so much nausea. Usually they are on fruit juices. To combat the nausea. Even cold drinks, junk food like french fries and so on. May be they feel the growth will happen later, in the 4th or 5th month. No. This is an important time. A lot of study has happened in Medical Science and has proved, That malnutrition or under-nutrition in the early gestation, Disturbs the entire developmental process of the baby. All the redistributed blood flow that is going to the child, gets affected. As far as possible, we have to make our diet very, very healthy. If someone wants to drink fruit juices, I recommend coconut water. It is natural, alkaline and reduces your acid levels. And suppose we are not eating anything because of vomits, Acid is still getting formed because it does not depend on the food we take. As we discussed, the acid that gets produced because of progesterone will certainly be there. If you eat anything, that acid in the stomach will get something to act on. It will get finished or neutralized. If you don’t eat anything, how will it get neutralized? It will increase in quantity. Regurgitation keeps happening. This simple knowledge helps. Even for the most disturbing factors like nausea and vomiting during the first 3 months, This information will help in tackling it to the extent of 50 to 60%. Because you have the knowledge and understanding now. You felt you ate something and vomited. No problem. Now the acid has got neutralized. Now eat something again. This information helps mothers. They learn by their own experience. Another thing could be happening that, Whatever you eat now, your child will get a taste of it. If you consume junk food, You will need to make an effort for a lifetime, to stop your child from eating junk food. In every household today there is a fight, about avoiding such items. The reason is that you have given a taste of it to the child. It is proven in science too. When amniotic fluid – which is the water surrounding the baby in the womb. We will discuss later about what amniotic fluid is. Today I ask my patients what that water is made of and where does it come from – they don’t know. It is actually fetal urine. Once the baby’s Kidneys start functioning, the baby passes urine. The baby takes it in again, and passes it out. It is such a strange fact. And from this amniotic fluid, flavours have been tested scientifically. So your baby is getting each and every flavour. So be very careful about what you eat. Thus there is there is lot of importance attached to pure, Sattvic food. Especially when it comes to drinking and smoking during the entire phase Whether the habit is of the wife or the husband, or the entire family – how much does it affect? Drinking and smoking habits are discussed with a couple during pregnancy. It is a huge thing. It affects each and every system of your body. Right from nervous system, digestive system, neural system, In case of chronic smokers and chronic alcoholics, we have seen the effect on each and every organ. If we think of the effect it has on our own body, And when there is another creation happening within our body, It is impossible. We have a guideline that it is an absolute No. Even passive smoking is a No. Because whatever you inhale is going to your baby too. Because whatever is going through your system in circulation, Is entering your baby. So there are many, many ill effects which are related. We have Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. There are extremely low birth weight babies and pre-term labours. This has a strong association with chronic smokers. They have diabetes because most of them have bizarre eating habits. So much happens. There is a whole cascade of problems. Sister Shivani, when during the process we have all these limitations, And if we are unable to prepare ourselves for it. How to cut it off suddenly? Alcohol and smoking might be less common. But what about common addictions like junk food, tea, coffee? Even chocolate addiction, as many people are addicted to highly caffeinated chocolates. What should the mother do to give it up suddenly? Is there a certain thought process to help her can come out of it? It should not be difficult. Because going forward, you will be ready to do anything for sake of your child’s health. You spend a huge part of your life in stopping them from eating chocolates or french fries. We come out of it ourselves at that time. So going forward, whatever aspect you would put so much effort into, When you know its importance, Basically it is just to realise that it can have such a deep impact. I think we did not know. If we know the impact and its power, Whatever you are eating today, Even if a very small quantity of alcohol is in your body, If the child is getting its taste, or the chemical present in that substance, One is the effect on the development of the child right now. And other is that you have already put it in your child’s system. There is a high probability that later in life, that child will develop a craving, Or at least desire for it. And then we will go through all the pain, To want the child to give up all those things. Listening to all this I feel that an effort of a lifetime, Can be done right now easily, in a short time.
