MY NATURAL BIRTH STORY|| WATER BIRTH || LABOR AND DELIVERY VIDEO

hi guys welcome back to my channel a
long time no see it has been a while since I have been face to face with the
camera or even on camera the last time you guys saw me I was very heavily
pregnant deep cleaning my room for my arrival of my baby and so here we are
I’m 2 months postpartum I feel like I’m finally in a groove to be able to sit
down and film videos again and edit and everything like that so we are going to
get into my birth story of my fifth baby Holden before I start though I want you
to let you guys know that please stay to the end of the video because I’m going
to insert the video that my videographer / photographer did of Holden’s birth so
that will be at the end of the birth story so stay tuned all the way to the
end so that you guys can see how amazingly talented she is so let’s just
jump right in to the birth story I was 41 weeks the day I delivered Holden I went
into labor the day before so he was born April 23rd and which was a Tuesday and I
went into labor Monday night so I had been taking my kids to a soccer game I
ended up trudging through a football field length of grass to get my
three-year-old to the bathroom because that’s where their bathrooms were at the
soccer game so I had to put my two-year-old in his stroller and Huff my
three-year-old across the field to the bathroom it was a workout I didn’t feel
like I was gonna be going into labor after that but I’m just I’m assuming
that’s what started it so later on that night I had talked to my parents
probably about 10:00 p.m. and I had gotten in my pajamas ready to sit down
watch fellow youtubers scroll through Instagram that
my veg time about 10:30 and my husband was in the kitchen doing his homework
cuz he’s still in school so I had laid down on the couch and I felt like a
small gush and I was like what in the heck was that so I went to the bathroom
emptied out my bladder cuz you never know and I gave it a couple more minutes came
back out here and another small gush no contractions just a gush this is this
time like okay I’m gonna go slap a pad on so that I can monitor and see you
know how much because it was enough that I had to change my underwear you guys so
I put a pad on and I by this time my husband had come in and he was like did
your water break and I’m like I think it did it’s just kind of trickling gushing
right now and the only other kid that I’ve had my water break before labor was
my first which was David he came at 36 weeks and I didn’t know my water had
broken then either kind of just trickled so it was kind of the same thing except
when I’d laid down it was like a small gush I contacted my Midwife and I
let her know what was up she told her to you know keep just keep in contact with
her let her know you know as things start to progress my husband was still
doing his homework trying to wrap it up sending out letters to professor’s to
try to get a small extension on some projects because if this was baby night
he was gonna need it and then about eleven o’clock I went and laid down cuz
I’m like I should probably try to get some sleep but I have, I’m like a
list-maker so in my mind I’m like thinking of all these things that are
gonna have to happen before we go to the birth center so I couldn’t get
comfortable enough to even fall asleep I wasn’t having painful contractions or
anything just the gushing so I was laying in bed and I thought to myself I
better ask my midwife so I texted my midwife her name was Chris and I said my
parents live about two and a half hours away when should I let them know that
they need to head down here and she’s like like now right now so I called my
parents like I said I’d talk to them about 10 a.m. and I told them what was
up I’m like I didn’t even know this was gonna happen but apparently we’re having
a baby either tonight or tomorrow and so my mom’s like we’re on our way
so my backup because my kids were all in bed and asleep to come watch my house
was my sister and this was like at 11 o’clock and so I’m thinking to myself
she’s probably asleep so I call her no answer call her again no answer call her
again no answer call my mom tell her I can’t
hold of her she calls her no answer and this goes on contractions start to pick
up about 11:30 and now they’re getting to the point where I can start timing
them they’re about every seven to nine minutes so they’re not very close but
they’re notable enough that I can time them and so I’m laying and timing and
trying to get rest and still trying to get ahold of my sister and so finally
I’m like ok we probably aren’t gonna get ahold of her so I called my friend
who lives probably about 30 minutes from my house and she said she would be a
backup if I couldn’t get ahold of my sister well her phone was off so in my
mind I’m slightly panicking because I’m like oh my gosh I’m not gonna have
anybody to come sit here and watch my kids my kid I and I have no idea how
fast this labor is gonna go so finally about let’s see is about 12 I’m gonna
say it was about 12:30 because I called my parents at 11:00 they left about
11:15 12:15 what yeah that’s about right so about 12:30 I finally get old my
sister she’s super apologetic I told her it’s okay just come on up she gets here
you know 10 minutes later my parents are here it was that that long of a distance
of time where I was just very content I just sat and relaxed I couldn’t sleep
you never can I don’t know why people tell you just try to get some rest like
bullcrap I can’t sleep I’m anxious I’m excited I’m scared I’m all the feelings
of emotions and there ain’t no way in hell I’m gonna sleep so I didn’t sleep
obviously my parents got here and they they were here and so we were on our way
we went up to the birth center I wanted to be able to labor longer at the birth
center than I did with my previous labor because if any of you mamas have had
contractions in the car you know that is the worst thing ever contractions in the
car are the devil they hurt so bad and I did not want to be in that position
again so I know I wanted to go up and labor and be able to be have active
labor and transition at the birth centers so we got up there and my midwife bless
her heart had delivered like three or four babies earlier and so she and her
assistant had been up for like 72 hours straight already
and she was so tired so she our room was ready everything was set up it was so
beautiful and she’s like let me check and see how far you are so she did which
was the only time she checked me actually and she’s like he’s still got a
ways to go and I was kind of bummed out about that because my Labor’s
technically they go fast and so I was a little bummed out that that was
the case and I was really hoping that I didn’t just call everybody for a false
alarm I had also called my photographer videographer her name was
Mikayla and she had told me to get up to the birth center and get comfortable
before having her come up there so that she didn’t disturb any birth energy or
anything like that which was fine no big deal so we got up there and my doula met
us up there and she said maybe you should try to get some rest again and I
told her dude I ain’t gonna get no rest because she’s one of my best
friends and so she’s like we’ll just try to lay down and relax at least if you
can’t sleep so she got me into this position on my left side that kind of I
think is what kind of jump-started the contractions because I was trying to
walk around because I felt like they were kind of tapering off and I was
super worried that my labor was gonna stall and everybody’s gonna go home and
we’d have to come back home and so she put me in this position
it got contractions going again but again I was able to just lay through
them finally it got to a point we laid probably for about 45 minutes and again
I didn’t sleep my husband did I can always tell when he falls asleep because
he kind of twitches his hands and sefelt which in his sleep so he fell asleep but
then I got it to go to the bathroom and then after I went to the bathroom I kind
of like was standing in the bathroom rocking and my husband had noticed that
I got out of bed he came and make sure he’s like are you okay as some as I was
having a contraction I said yeah I’m okay I just can’t lay through them
anymore and so by that point he just went over and turned all the lights on
in our room my husband and my doula were trying so hard to try to help me
through these contractions and I don’t know what it is
I don’t know if it’s just my body saying dude you can do this by yourself you
don’t need these counter pressures you don’t need any of this stuff because no
matter what they tried nothing helped the pain of the contraction except for
me to just be by myself just to rock over the the giant yoga ball or medicine
ball whatever you want to call it I rocked back and forth on it while
standing and I would go back and forth of my hips those that was the only thing
that could make the contractions bearable for me they tried counter
pressures they tried doing a different sitting and squatting and pushing up
against my knees nothing nothing helped and so finally after a
little while I had gone through the contractions I finally told Dalan I said
okay I’m ready to get to the pool so he went and got Chris our Midwife and she
came in and my husband and my midwife filled up the pool and while
that was happening obviously I was having more contractions and again my
doula was trying to help but it just nothing was helping me with the pain so
the pool got full I got undressed and as I was getting addressed I thought to
myself oh crap we need to call Michaela so I looked at dalan and I said you
need to call the photographer because I didn’t call her so he called her and
told her that it was time to come over I got in the water and it felt amazing
that pool made such a big difference it was still painful you guys but it was so
much better than being out of the water I don’t know what it is about it but I
got to the point where I was on my knees and there cut my knees were kind of
splayed out like this and I was leaning over the pool and kind of rocking
through contractions moaning and rocking through the contractions my doula
actually tried to do the counter pressure again she went into the water
and came up behind me and did these hip squeezes and it felt amazing it felt so
dang good like she was doing these exact hip squeezes not even ten minutes ago
when I was out of the water they weren’t doing anything but they felt amazing in
the water so I labored like that for a little while and I could tell that it
was starting to get serious because Chris came in again her assistant Jan
came in Karina was there dalan was there you could hear him bustling in the
background getting stuff ready and then probably about I think my doula had like
some little time stamps that she gave me and it said 6:36 first grunt slash push
and then 6:41 baby Holden was born so my pushing phases are super super super
fast and so my sweet little photographer showed up maybe 15 minutes she barely
barely made it and of no fault but my own I didn’t call her
with enough time I totally spaced it I’m glad I remembered at all but she had
barely made it before I was pushing and you guys it felt like forever I know my
pushing phases are fast but it did not feel that way it felt like it was
forever and I had labored on my back with bowen and it was the worst pain
ever and I remember telling that to my doula saying I don’t want to feel that
again I don’t want to feel it and so she’s like well then we’ll try you
pushing in different positions so all again I was on my knees with my knees
splayed out and somehow someway I was on my back again it was just me moving
myself around my body wanted me to do I guess that’s the only thing I can think
of I know the pain but that’s what my body wanted to do and it didn’t want to
be in any other position so I was leaning back up against the pool
Dalan was behind me my midwife Chris was right here on my side and my doula
was right in front of me and as I would have the contractions I had my knees up
pushed up as far as you can up against an inflatable pool it doesn’t give you
much anything to push on so my doula used the palms of her hands
and pushed in between my kneecaps and that helped a ton also like I said it
was still it was still painful I’m not gonna lie
but it definitely helped and I remember my midwife telling me I remember
actually saying that why is this taking so long it is not it should not be
taking this long this hurts and my midwife said it’s not it’s not taking
that long at all honey it’s not you want to reach down and feel his head and I
know I don’t I can feel his head now I don’t need to touch it I don’t need that
miraculous feeling I can feel it all happening right now and to kind of like
giggled at me and so I remember feeling his head and then Nixon oh it was just
head and he was up just boom and it was over and I felt so much better and
usually I would stop my birth stories right here because obviously he’s been
born and everything’s good but I had a little bit of a hiccup in the postpartum
part and so they got me out of the tub and onto the bed and everybody had gone
home that needed to my doula the photographer we got all the pictures and
weights and everything like that my midwife was like do you want to go
shower and I was like I want to go shower would be awesome
I’d go stand in the shower I’m showering off the water feels great and they say
no I’m feeling these large freaking clumps coming out and I’m looking down
and these clots are the size of my fist I’m not exaggerating by any means they
were massive so I mentioned it to my midwife and she
said that’s okay maybe need to come out and lay down down so she brought me up
under the bed they laid down we talked about what I wanted to eat cuz I was
hungry I knew I needed to eat I remember sitting up and just feeling like crap
and I had like the cold sweats I was hot but I was shivering and it was
sweaty and I just felt kind of nauseous and lightheaded and then I started
having like this ringing in my ear and I remember thinking kid that that can’t be
good so looked over at my midwife and I said does anybody else hear the ringing
and I looked at her and she looked at her assistant and they both like we’re
up boom at my side band me laying on my back flat
they had my legs up and propped up on the ball that I was laboring on earlier
they’re taking my blood pressure and I think she said it was 80 over 60 so I
was tanking hard I had tunnel vision and so I looked at her face and she couldn’t
even see an inch of panic on her face she was very calm collected and then I
looked at Dawn’s face looking for any type of oh my gosh –is am i dying is
this the last am I am I looking at my son and my husband is that gonna be the
last thing that I see because that’s how I feel I feel like I’m dying right now
and my husband’s face was very calm and he was just smiling at me and I looked
over at Chris and I she had told her assistant I need to shut up pitocin and
then I need another shot and it started with an M but I cannot remember what it
was called I’ve got a shot in each leg and then they brought me a bottle of
water with some electrolyte drink in it and they had any jug and they said in
three big gulps 1 2 3 and Jan was off to get me another bottle of water with the
electrolyte minutes and back at my side making me drinking again they wanted me
to pee they need my uterus to contract that I would stop hemorrhaging because
that’s what I was happening I was hemorrhaging my Midwife kept pushing on
my stomach to try to get my uterus to contract down and every time I
can hear the sound Claire’s day every time she’d push I could hear those
clumps just flopping it’s like a picked up noise out and just like four or five
massive clots and she’s like nope we don’t want that and it was a really
scary situation and I really thought I was dying because they had oxygen on me
I had tunnel vision but I knew that if it was that serious there would have
been an ambulance by that point which there never was and I also remember
thinking to myself if I just went through all that pain naturally to avoid
a hospital bill and not getting the epidural which I totally would have got
if I was at hospital to be transferred to the hospital now we can get a
hospital bill because I’m hemorrhaging I’m gonna be pissed and I told that to
my husband and he just he’s like of course you would say that of course you
would you are a cheap ass and it’s kind of a funny joke
but yeah I was super it was super super scary but again my midwife was very calm
she was so professional not an inch of panic on her face she was just like a
mom really she’s rubbing my head making sure that I’m okay she’s rubbing my arm
talking to me once I was in the clear and everything
my blood pressure started coming back up they took the oxygen off me they put my
legs down I could sit up a little bit more once all that started happening my
midwife looked over at me and she said when I looked at you and I saw the color
drained from your lips I knew that we were in trouble and I was
like holy crap so once everything was all said and done I could go you know I
felt like this birth was a lot harder in retrospect like afterwards with Bowen I
could get up and I was perky and happy and full of energy and super badass
after Holdens I was just I felt like I’d been hit by a truck like I was drained
and it hurt to move and my body ate so it kind of sucked but I was super
grateful super grateful for my midwife and her assistant Jan they were so
helpful and I was just grateful grateful to have somebody who knew what she was
doing and to think like a hundred years ago I probably would have died in that
situation even maybe unless so that’s kind of a interesting
like food for thought anyways so that’s that’s typically
that’s probably I’m gonna stop here considering it’s the birth story but I’m
glad that we’re done we’re done with kids it’s the end finito final done no
more and I’m super happy that he’s here I love them to pieces so I’ll probably
be doing a baby update next week he’ll have his two-month appointment with his
pediatrician so we’ll be able to have like some stats and stuff on him to
share with you guys so I’ll probably do that video next week and then I push you
guys for staying to the end of this video and so I will put I’m gonna insert
in the video that my videographer photographer did for us she is amazingly
talented and it’s a beautiful video it’s pretty short like I said she got there
right right before the stuff started happening my fault but it’s still
beautiful she still made it look she still made a look at wonderful and it
was worth it so thank you guys so much for watching and make sure that you
comment down below on anything on anything about the story or anything
about the video that I’m gonna show you and we’ll see you guys next time bye
