Kourtney Kardashian: Things You Didn’t Know About Her!

Kourtney Kardashian: Things You Didn’t Know About Her!

From her first job to her short-lived acting
career, this is Kourtney Kardashian: Things You Didn’t Know About Her: 13. Beginnings This Kardashian sister was born in Los Angeles,
California in April 1979; she’s currently thirty-nine years old. Her father was Robert George Kardashian, an
attorney who was most well-known for defending OJ Simpson during his infamous trial. But, he passed away from esophageal cancer
in September 2003. Her mother is, of course, Kris. However, her parents got a divorce in 1991,
and her mom tied the knot with Bruce Jenner, now Caitlyn. After they got married, Kourtney gained more
siblings, including Burton, Brody, Brandon, Casey, Kylie, and Kendall. She went to a Roman Catholic high school,
called Marymount High, in her hometown. After she received her diploma, she went to
Dallas, Texas to enroll at Southern Methodist University, where she stayed for two years. After that, she moved to Tucson, Arizona. 12. Broken Bone Although most people only see her graceful
side at events and on various red carpets, there was a time when Kourtney wasn’t exactly
the most careful person. It was a long, long time ago, however. When she was five years old, she was playing
on her swing set when things took a turn for the worse. She fell off and broke her collarbone! But, it looks like things healed just fine. 11. Assistant All of the Kardashians are known nowadays
for their glamorous lifestyles; but, they all had to start somewhere, and Kourtney was
no exception. Although considering the average person’s
introduction to the working world, her first job certainly seems more interesting than
most of ours. She began as a movie production assistant
and was tasked with the essential roles of yelling “cut!” and “rolling!” during
filming. 10. College Many people believe that the Kardashian sisters
aren’t school-educated because they’ve been in the public eye for so long and have
been making money through various business ventures and shows. However, despite this common belief, Kourtney
did attend university. We already noted that she went to Southern
Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. But, she also enrolled at the University of
Arizona while she was living in Tucson. In fact, she received her degree there! You might find this next bit pretty surprising
considering her acting career never took off; but, Kourtney got her bachelor’s degree
in Theatre Arts! Plus, she minored in Spanish. You go, girl! She also planned on attending law school but
decided not to go last minute. However, Kourtney thought about picking up
where she left off more recently. A source revealed to Radar Online in September
2017, “Kourtney wants to get her Master’s in Spanish and is looking at doing a law degree
online, which will take at least three years. That’s impossible right now because of the
family, but Kourtney’s always been the type to have long-term plans.” 9. Public Speaking You probably would have never guessed that
any of the Kardashian-Jenners were afraid of public speaking. But, Kourtney has struggled with this fear
her entire life. In October 2016, she interviewed with Today
Extra and admitted her problems with stage fright. Kourtney noted regarding her speech at the
United Kingdom’s Glamour Women Of The Year awards, “… getting on the stage at the
awards and like having to speak… freaks me out.” She added, “I failed two classes in college
because I couldn’t give the speech. Like we had to do a project at the end and
I just wouldn’t show up.” She even admitted that during the awards ceremony
she thought, “What if I just run to the bathroom and say, ‘I’m going to the bathroom,’
and really leave. What’s gonna happen to me? Like nothing. I’m not going to go to jail.” Of course, she didn’t actually run and hide
in the bathroom. She pulled through and did the speech! 8. Getting Famous You might not have known this, but, Kourtney
Kardashian started out on television before she and her sisters made it big with Keeping
Up with the Kardashians in 2007. Two years before their famous series aired,
Kourtney was on the reality show Filthy Rich: Cattle Drive, during which daughters and sons
of various celebrities would be taken on a cattle drive to try and live without the luxuries
they’d become so accustomed to. She went on the series to make money for charity. However, she gained the majority of her fame
once Kim’s famous tape with Ray J leaked in 2007, four years after it was created. This event is also what probably sparked the
popularity of the ongoing Keeping Up show. 7. Acting Since her degree was earned in the Theatre
Arts field, it shouldn’t be shocking that Kourtney always wanted to try her hand at
acting. Her dreams came true in March 2011. She played Kassandra Kavanaugh in an episode
of the soap opera One Life to Live… see what they did with the ‘Ks’, everyone? She’s a true Kardashian, acting or not. Kourtney was a little concerned while filming
the episode and later stated, “I’d thought I’d have two lines. But my script is so long… I’m not an actress.” There was also a kissing scene that made her
feel a bit uncomfortable. Then-lover, Scott Disick, was there to help
with smooching practice. But, Kourtney was still a little freaked out. Regarding her on-screen makeout partner, David
Fumero, she said, “I looked him up online… I’m like, ‘I need to see this guy. Is he 99 [years old], like what is he?’ And he’s a very handsome guy. So, that makes it easier.” She added, “I probably ate a hundred mints
that day. But, I’m still such a prude!” 6. Television Shows Other than her brief soap-opera appearance,
Kourtney is extremely well-recognized for the reality television shows she stars in
with her family. After her time on Filthy Rich: Cattle Drive,
Keeping Up with the Kardashians began, and it is still going strong today. The idea of making the show started in 2006
after Kris Jenner projected an interest in being on a TV show with her family. She said, “Everybody thinks [my children]
could create a bunch of drama in their lives, but it’s something that I felt I didn’t
even have to think about. It would be natural.” But, you might not have known that the person
behind the scenes of this wild show is Ryan Seacrest. He had a production company of his own and
decided to run with the idea. After he had a cameraman film a Kardashian
Sunday barbeque and sharing the tape with E!, they picked the show up. Bunim/ Murray Productions and Seacrest produced
it. It premiered on October 14, 2007, and mostly
focuses on Kim, Khloe, and Kourtney. Regarding the success of Keeping Up, Seacrest
later stated, “At the heart of the series – despite the catfights and endless sarcasm
– is a family that truly loves and supports one another… The familiar dynamics of this family make
them one Hollywood bunch that is sure to entertain.” There are currently sixteen seasons of Keeping
Up with the Kardashians. But, Kourtney has been on several spinoff
series as well, including Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami, Kourtney and Kim Take New York,
Khloe & Lamar, Kourtney and Khloe Take The Hamptons, I Am Cait, and Dash Dolls. 5. Spider Fear Those of you who watched Keeping Up with the
Kardashians probably know that Kim has dealt with spider fear for a long time. But, did you know that Kourtney has also been
terrified of the eight-legged critters for almost her whole life? Apparently, when she was just a kid, she watched
the film Arachnophobia with her dad. During the wee hours of the night, he put
fake spiders inside her bed. When she woke up and saw them, it marked the
beginning of her fear. In 2018, her nightmares were made into a reality
when tarantulas invaded her house. One Keeping Up episode shows the giant spiders
in action, walking across Kourtney’s backyard. She had pest control come before that, but
it didn’t put a stop to the hairy arachnids. When she called them again during the episode
to have her house sprayed again, the pest guys informed her that it was tarantula mating
season. Yikes! They noted that it would take a long time
to get rid of the spiders since they were out and about and breeding. Kourtney said, “I just will not feel comfortable
until these tarantulas are fully gone.” I don’t think any of us could be able to
sleep peacefully in this situation. 4. Butter The first thing you’re going to think when
you hear this one is “Um… ew!” But, hear Kourtney out before you jump to
conclusions. She drinks ghee every morning. For those of you who don’t know, ghee is
a type of clarified butter that was created in India. Essentially, yes, it is the same stuff you
dip your crab legs in. In 2016, Kourtney noted, “Ghee is the first
thing I put in my body every morning. I take one big teaspoon of ghee every morning
and melt it on the stove in a pan and drink it out of a cute little ceramic cup. After I take it, I don’t eat anything for
twenty minutes, and then I drink a glass of water before eating food.” Sorry, Kourtney, but, just because you put
it in a cute cup doesn’t make it any less disgusting-sounding. However, she believes there’s a good reason
for doing this. She said it’s a “healthy fat, like coconut
oil, meaning the fatty acids are absorbed directly into the liver and burnt as energy.” She added that she and her family use it for
more than a morning beverage, stating, “We make French toast, grilled cheese sandwiches,
quesadillas, basically anything we can with ghee.” Unfortunately, the science doesn’t really
back Kourt’s claim. A coauthor of the book The Calendar Diet:
A Month-by-Month Guide to Losing Weight While Living Your Life named Karen Ansel pointed
out, “Ghee is almost entirely fat and a large chunk of that fat is saturated fat,
known to raise levels of harmful LDL cholesterol, which is linked to heart disease.” Okay, so, maybe we were right to judge immediately. But, ghee seems to be working for Kourtney;
so, more power to her! 3. Superstitious Another thing you might not have known about
Kourtney Kardashian is that she’s pretty superstitious, especially when it comes to
traveling. She told People, “When I go on an airplane,
it’s right foot first and then I kiss two fingers and touch the plane. When I take off, I cross two fingers on my
right hand and put both my thumbs up.” This sounds pretty strange, but those of you
with the fear of flying can probably relate Kourtney’s ritual. It must get tiring with how much the Kardashians
have to travel. 2. Scott Disick Kourtney Kardashian’s most famous relationship
was with Scott Disick. They met during a 2006 party in Mexico that
was thrown by Joe Francis, the creator of Girls Gone Wild. Their relationship was made public in 2007
when Keeping Up debuted, and he was featured in the show. However, less than a year after that, Kourtney
and Scott broke up after she accused him of being unfaithful. Their breakup didn’t last long, and they
told the public about their reunion in August 2009. Kourtney announced that she was pregnant around
the same time, and she gave birth to Mason that December. After another breakup and makeup, they had
their second baby, Penelope, in July 2012. About two years later, Kourtney had their
third child, Reign Aston Disick. However, in July 2015 the duo announced that
they were splitting for good after Scott was seen cheating with an ex-girlfriend. Then, Kourtney allegedly began getting romantic
with none other than… Justin Bieber! By October of that year, Scott had apparently
gained control of his life by going to rehab for substance issues. Then, in October 2016, Kourtney started dating
Younes Bendjima, a model that’s about fourteen years younger and a foot taller than she is. After two years together, however, Kourtney
and Younes called it quits. Luckily, her relationship with Scott has become
more laid back over time. She and her former beau began co-parenting
like pros in 2017. They even spent the holidays together in 2018,
and Kourtney posted several Instagram photos of them working together for the sake of their
kids. In November of that year, she even accompanied
Scott and his girlfriend for dinner. 1. Mason We already mentioned that Kourtney has three
children, Mason Dash, Penelope Scotland, and Reign Aston Disick. But, let’s talk a little more about them! When she was pregnant with her first baby,
she was only interested in the name “Mason.” She later noted, “The first time I started
looking at baby names, Mason was the only one I liked… It was the only one that stuck with me. Right before he was born, I told my aunt we
were thinking about going with that for a name. She told me that Mason means the same thing
in English that Kardashian means in Armenian – stone worker. Another aunt told me my great uncle used to
use the name Mason when he made dinner reservations because Kardashian was too long. When I heard that, I thought, ‘Oh my god,
it’s meant to be.’” Her other kids’ names were chosen mostly
because she thought they were fitting and adorable. She was right! There’s no denying Kourtney’s children
have cute names and charming looks to boot! Today’s featured comment comes from PREPFORIT

  • Just goes to show you that they are just people's lol. Degree in theater is cool. You go girl 😊. I feel you on the spiders. Butter ghee never heard of it until now lol wow cool

  • My last name is Splitstone. I prefer to think it has the same origin as Mason, which is the last name of one of my uncles (by marriage). My father did construction for a living for a while. He did all the stone work for a local church, and cut all the stone for our own house. I actually helped my dad when he was laying blocks on the job. I have to admit however. it could come from working a prison stone yard. Who knows?

  • Unfortunately this facts are not-to interesting. However, Kourtney Kardashian is hottest and most "down to earth" of the sisters.
