The Valley Hospital’s birth program is unique, because
it personalizes the patient’s care. Christie, it’s Heidi. Can I come in? From as early as six weeks of pregnancy
when they first find out that they’re pregnant until the very end, it’s personalized. Congratulations. You did a magnificent job. You did it without anything, correct? I’m so proud of you. Christie delivered vaginally, without any anesthesia, without any medication at about 11:02 this morning. The Valley Hospital is unique because of all the expertise and
all the experienced nurses that we have over here. I mean, you can ask all the nurses. They’re like thirty years or thirty-five years. That should say something that Valley is doing something right. She is happy that it’s done. I know, I was in here. Christie said full moon. But you did a great job. She was amazing. And you know what we like about when you don’t have any anesthesia? It’s unpredictable, and we love that. I can’t believe I did that with no anesthesia. You did. Isn’t it amazing? I’m so, oh my God. And now you’re ready to have another one, right? No, oh no. I’m waiting. I’ll have to think about that. Do you know how many times I’ve heard that? I met with Christie a number of times before her birth. We discussed what she wanted and what she didn’t want, how to best prepare for her. In talking to her, we figured out how we were going to make this work best for her. I think it helped a lot of her fears about the environment that she was going to be in, so that when she came in, she was less anxious. When patients are less anxious, the birth process happens more naturally. The more calm a person is, the easier the process happens. It’s a perfect example of Christie, coming to see me, becoming more relaxed about the environment and the process, and then having a baby kind of, very nicely. She did an excellent job, and she’ll be back even though she says she won’t. We are number one ranked for the postpartum mother baby units, actually, all the time. Even nurses that we have in other hospitals, they come and have their babies here, and we ask them why, and they say the care here is top notch. When you talk about holistic birth, you’re talking about mind, body, spirit. So we don’t just address the physical entity
of childbirth. It’s the most important day of a mom’s life when her new baby is brought into the world, and we want it to be what she wants it to be. I’ve had patients come from other
hospitals to me mid-pregnancy, because what we’re doing is so unique. There’s a definite need in the area. There are women out there that want this.
