Contractions | Labor & Delivery | Parents

Labor is actually a very mechanical process.
Your uterus is a big muscle that is trying to push your baby through the space inside
your pelvis. So, as you get closer and closer to the time of birth, these contractions have
to be stronger, and stronger, and stronger. And that’s why they’re so painful. It’s like
having a giant muscle cramp over and over and over again. And that is what is gonna
get your baby out.
