12 WEEKS PREGNANT UPDATE | EMILY NORRIS

Right. Hi, guys. So I need to be a little
bit quiet because my youngest is just falling asleep in the next room, so I want to take
this opportunity to film my 12 week update. The most exciting thing that’s happened in
the 12th week is obviously we had our dating scan, which means we have really cute little
pictures of the baby now. This is one of them, which I think captures like its profile so
well. It’s amazing how clear these scans are. And then we got a second one where it’s got
its little leggy like stretched out. So yes, it was an amazing experience. We didn’t take
our two boys with us because we thought it would be too chaotic. So my husband and I
just went, and yeah, it was really [inaudible 00:00:44]. As soon as they went onto the baby, it was
different from with the boys because the baby was like laying on its side, and it was literally
like looking right at us. You could see its whole face, like just looking directly at
us, and I’ve never seen that before, so that was really cool. And then it was just, I was
amazed looking at it, like how much it was just moving around and like wriggling around,
considering I can’t feel anything yet. It was like literally having a party in there,
and it’s just crazy that I can’t feel any of it yet. But yeah, so luckily there is just
one perfect baby in there. So yeah, it really does make it so real when you physically see
the baby and you had your scan and you can come away, and obviously now we’ve told everyone. So I did a pregnancy announcement on my channel,
and I also did an announcement on Facebook. We had a photo shoot for the boys. I do a
photo shoot every year for the boys, and it just so happened that we did one recently
and I had the scan picture, so we tried to get one picture with the scan, and I don’t
know how she did it, but she got an amazing picture of the boys kind of with the scan
picture, so I used that to announce it on Facebook, and yeah, so it’s all out in the
open now, which is so, so nice. It feels so good everyone knows, and very real that we
now have just six months left to go before the baby is here. So yeah, so I’m going to talk about symptoms
and everything that I have been feeling in the past week. I’m now actually 13 weeks,
but I’m going to talk about my whole 12th week. With the scan, I forgot to mention that
we also had the Downs screening as well, so they measured like the fluid in the back of
the neck and then I went and had a blood test as well. That is all going to be sent off,
and then I’m going to get a letter in the post saying how likely it is that my baby
could potentially have Down syndrome, but I definitely wanted to do that test. I did
it with both of my boys. They said you don’t have to do it, but you know, I’m getting on
a bit. I’m actually going to be 33 years old tomorrow. Yeah, tomorrow … I’m getting a
bit older, and I would just like to know that the baby is hopefully all okay. Also in the scan, when they went over the
baby’s legs, like I know it’s way too early to say or to know anything, but I swear I
saw something between his legs, and I’m a mom of two boys. Like I kind of know what
I’m looking for, and I saw it, and I was convinced. I was like, “I just saw its bits, I’m pretty
sure it’s a boy.” And the woman was like, “Oh, no, no, no, don’t be silly. It’s far
too early to know.” Yeah. When I got home, I googled like gender
at 12 weeks, and it said that actually both boys and girls at this stage have a nub, they
called it. It’s within the next month that this nub is going to turn into a boy’s bits
or a girl’s bits, so that’s just really confused me because it’s funny, when I saw it between
its legs, I instantly felt loads of relief. I saw it and I was like, “Ah, it’s a boy.
Like, I know what I’m doing.” And I don’t know, I just felt quite a lot of relief, and
now I’ve come home and googled that actually it could be either, I feel a bit like more
unsettled, which I’d never expected to feel, but we’ll definitely find out the sex. Loads
of people have asked me if we’re going to find out the gender. Yes, we’re going to find
out the gender, and I’m even toying with the idea of having an early gender scan, which
you can do from 16 weeks. I was thinking maybe if we went at like 17 weeks it would definitely
be formed. My husband thinks it’s a complete waste of
money because we can find out 20 weeks anyway, and it’s not like we can change what’s going
on, but I am so impatient and I hate surprises, and I’m just desperate to know. Either way
I’ll be so happy, but I can’t wait to find it out. In the dating scan, they said that the baby
is six and a bit centimeters, and that is roughly the length of like a pea pod, so it’s
really coming on. It looks completely formed, but it’s still so tiny. Baby is practicing
like all of its reflexes, which is probably why it was moving around so much on the scan
and in there. As I said, I have felt no movement yet to date. It’s definitely true what they say about your
symptoms letting up from the 12 week mark. I have definitely felt less tired. I’ve felt
almost like lighter and a bit more of a clear head. Like I feel like I’m got baby brain
less. I feel like I’m a bit more focused. I have less headaches. Still keep getting
out of breath. I’m still needing to go to the loo more. I am so, so thirsty. I’ve been
drinking so much. Have felt a few like pulls on either side of my stomach, so I’m assuming
that it’s my stomach growing. Yeah, the other night I was laying down in bed, and then my
husband really made me laugh, and it kind of like hurt. I could feel like a bit of pain
in my stomach, and also if I’m laying down and I sneeze, that can also be quite painful. So in terms of names, I know I’ve talked about
this before, but we have now kind of agreed on a girl’s name, and we’ve now agreed on
a boy’s name as well. Still no middle names. We think we might have first names, so that’s
pretty exciting. Obviously I’m going to keep it a secret. I’m really sorry, but these things
might change, and I don’t want anyone to put me off. So we’ve got those. Yeah, to be honest, I’m just buzzing this
week. Everyone has been so supportive. Like all of your comments and messages and everything
have been so, so lovely that the support has been amazing, and it’s really nice that everyone
seems to be as excited as we are. And yeah, it’s just a really, really nice time. We told
the boys. We did a pregnancy announcement video of us surprising the boys with the fact
that they’re going to have another sibling, and that is on my channel, so go check it
out if you haven’t seen. But yeah, so Fraser’s reaction has been amazing.
It’s so different from when we told him about Caleb. Because he’s five years old now, he
just completely understand exactly what we’re saying. Like Mommy’s got a baby in her tummy,
and we’ve said to him, because I’m due in September, we’ve said, “When you start year
one, there will be a new baby in the family,” and yeah, it’s really, really cute. It’s like
in the morning he takes my covers off and he starts talking to my stomach. He’ll bring
over toys and start showing my stomach like toys, and he’s like, “Look, baby, this is
Mario,” and blah, blah, blah, blah. And I was like, “This is so cute but it’s not coming
out for six months. Like, it might be a long six months.” It’s just so sweet to see. He’s such a caring
boy, and I’m so proud of him. Yeah. I just feel like this baby is so, so lucky already
to be coming into a family where it has these two big brothers that are going to play with
it and care for it and love it. And yeah, it’s just so, so lucky already. But yeah,
I’m getting all gushy. I’m a bit emotional because I’m pregnant. Sorry about all the
pregnancy updates are so, so quickly, but I wanted to get them all out so that now we
can all be up to date. Thank you so much for watching and for subscribing, and I’ll see
you very soon. Bye. Hi, guys, so today is my 11 week pregnancy
update. I …
