01 Vaginal Bleeding

01 Vaginal Bleeding

– Hi, my name is Danny. Today we’re going to talk
about things you can do to take care of yourself
after you’ve had your baby. After you’ve had your baby you’re going to continue
to bleed vaginally for about four to six weeks. This bleeding is going
to start off really heavy and be bright red but it will taper off until it’s just a light
tan color discharge. If you ever have a foul vaginal odor this might indicate that
you have an infection. If you pass small blood
clots, that is normal but if you pass blood
clots larger than your fist or you soak through a
pad in an hour or less, get your nurse right away. If this happens once you’ve gone home, you need to seek emergency
medical attention.
